A Song of Summer

Sunday 3 May 4pm -Berkhamsted Town Hall

A celebration of English music old and new written and arranged for cello and harp.

Join us for an afternoon of music by Frederick Delius, Ralph Vaughan Williams, John Dowland and Henry Purcell amongst others, given a new life through the sound world of cello and harp.

Eleanor `Turner (harp) and Clare O’Connell (cello) present a mix of music inspired by folk traditions, with Thomas Ades’ incredible settings of Henry Purcell and an exquisite little song by Errolyn Wallen

Dances Signs and Songs

Sunday 28 June 4pm - Berkhamsted Town hall

From village dances to intimate modern miniatures, this programme traces the musical heritage of Eastern Europe, with music by Béla Bartók, Zoltán Kodály, György Kurtág, Ernö Dohnányi and Dobrinka Tabakova sitting alongside atmospheric arrangements from Kroke.

Eloisa Fleur Thom (violin) Luba Tunnicliffe (viola) and Clare O’Connell (cello) present a programme which reimagines the string trio not just as three instruments, but as three voices in conversation.
